Recently we’ve been celebrating work anniversaries for three of our team members!
Mitso first started out in 2016 as a team of one, with Maeve working as a consultant to support several clients. This quickly grew to what is now a team of five, and in our seventh year, we’re proud to look back and appreciate the hard graft, trust from our clients, and most of all, teamwork, that got us here!
As they celebrate their four-year, two-year, and one-year anniversaries respectively, we’ve asked Ciara, Charlotte and Gemma for the lowdown on Mitso, and the highlights of their journey so far!
First up it’s Ciara...
Ciara, Head of Digital Growth
I joined Mitso in 2019 as an intern as part of my MSc Marketing with Queen’s University, Belfast. Right from the get-go, I was treated as a valuable member of the team and was given the responsibility of managing social media content, digital advertising and website projects for a variety of clients across Ireland, the UK and Bermuda. This not only allowed me to develop my professional skills, but also the confidence to take on new challenges and responsibilities as my role progressed to Head of Digital Growth.
There have been so many career highlights to date with Mitso but I’ve especially loved getting out and about with our clients! I’ve helped launch Ireland’s first alpine coaster and Ireland’s longest zipline, project-managed the build of an important, sustainably focused online booking system for Cuilcagh Boardwalk in Co. Fermanagh and attended countless photography and videography shoots across the country - rain, hail or shine!
I might be biased, but I’ve learned so much to date and see great value in Mitso’s ‘digital-first’ strategy. I think the pandemic really brought a new appreciation for digital marketing both within and beyond our industry, and it’s an important part of our process leveraging data-driven marketing to drive digital transformation for our clients.
We put digital at the heart of everything we do – whether that’s building a new e-commerce website, driving social media traffic and conversions, or creating engaging email marketing campaigns – we're committed to driving innovation, creativity and results, and I love seeing tangible results from our hard work.
As a team we’re always learning and adapting to client and industry needs, and I’m excited for what lies ahead with Mitso – here's to the next four years!
Charlotte, Brand Communications Manager
My first day at Mitso saw me jumping into a Land Rover with my new colleague, Ciara, the owner of Cuilcagh Boardwalk (who was our newest client at the time), and Pip the dog, to trek across the Cuilcagh Lakelands and climb 500 steps to the top of boardwalk.
That told me everything I needed to know about what the next two years at Mitso would look like!
Since day one, the Mitso team ethos has been to get hands-on and do great work for our clients; it underpins every project we deliver. It also means we’re never standing still – we’re attending networking events, meeting our clients, delivering award-winning work, scoping new projects and managing impactful campaigns along the way.
Coming from the world of PR, my role is centred around core brand communications for our clients, and a real highlight for me was being shortlisted last year for the national CIPR Excellence Awards in London. In the past two years, Mitso has given me the opportunity to pivot and adapt my skills, so that now I’m leading brand transformations for global organisations alongside Gemma, our Senior Designer; delivering UX-informed copywriting for websites and digital campaigns; and managing intelligent marketing automations as a certified Klaviyo Partner.
I’ve loved growing my role to align with Mitso’s digital-first approach, while also getting to work with and support the wider team to be the very best we can be. Welcoming new team members, new clients and learning new skills, the future is looking very bright for Mitso, and I can’t wait to be a part of it!
Gemma, Senior Graphic Designer
My connection with Mitso started long before my official start date in February 2022. Whilst I was a freelance designer, I created some design work for Mitso and always enjoyed interacting with the team. Since then, I had kept my eye on Mitso and noticed they were doing some very exciting things, so when I saw that they were looking for a designer, I couldn’t apply fast enough!
A goal I continue to strive toward is to create great graphic design that makes a difference. Making my work visually appealing is one thing but I want my creativity to have an impact. I’ve always wanted to be part of a team that looks at the bigger picture, focuses on real results and lives by the rule that we are stronger together - that’s how I knew Mitso was for me.
Since joining the team, I have worked on projects I have previously only ever dreamed of doing. Branding projects from start to finish for global companies, branding workshops with interesting and growing brands (which I must say is a favourite of mine!), photoshoots all over Ireland, designing van livery, to logos and everything in-between.
So far, I have really enjoyed delving deep into a range of different brands, finding out where they currently are versus where they want to be and how we can get them there through strategy, messaging and design. But most of all I admire and treasure the team I work with, and how all our strengths come together to form a tenacious, dedicated and impactful team. I have no doubt I will continue to be challenged (in a good way!), grow as a designer and work on some seriously exciting projects with a team I genuinely love working with.
